Jim Viebrock has always had a strong work ethic. He started his first business at the age of 14. His lawn mowing company grew to be one of the largest professional lawn and landscape maintenance firms in the Springfield area. At its peak, Lawn Masters routinely maintained over 120 acres of commercial and residential grounds per week. During the late 1980’s Jim expanded the company into nursery operations where he grew plant stock from collected seed and by propagation. His expanded company, Rolling Acres Nursery, annually produced and sold tens of thousands of seedlings via mail order through-out most of the United States. The nursery operations were sold in the late 1990’s.
As a real estate broker, Jim enjoys buying houses and fixing them up for rentals or for re-sale.
Jim has a passion for history and enjoys antique tractors and old water mills. The property that Jim and his family call home in Western Greene County has been featured in newspapers nation wide due to a unique, endangered, cave dwelling species- the blind cave fish.
Jim ran for the Missouri House of Representatives in the summer of 2002 and successfully secured the Western Greene County seat. During his term in the legislature, Jim served as Chairman of Retirement, Vice-Chair of Agriculture Appropriations, Vice-Chair of DNR appropriations and Vice-Chair of Conservation Appropriations.
Viebrock served the maximum number of terms allowed by law (eight years) in the Missouri House of Representatives and was elected to the Greene County Presiding Commissioners post in November 2010. Viebrock assumed the County’s top leadership role on January 1st, 2011 were he still serves today.
